What customers say?

“ Delicious food, friendly owners. The food portions are generous. ”

“ Are home meals better than restaurant meals That's a tough one, right? Of course, there's no right answer... I'd even say there's no answer. It depends on the type of food, the restaurant, who cooks... There's 1 thing I would never choose to eat out, though (if I have the possibility to eat it at home, of course): couscous. If I had to pick 1 family classic, that would be couscous. Both my grandmothers used to make it, my mom makes it, my dad makes it... but I don't. I never learnt. Why? I think somehow eating couscous without my parents doesn't really make sense... Yet, every once in a while, I crave couscous... but I live 500km+ from my parents! So I have no choice but to go to a restaurant. Let's get rid of the obvious already: it's never even half as good as what I can have at home. ↔ I know this is a biased opinion, but it's how I feel. I don't know too many places that serve couscous in BCN and the last ones I visited were not great. I did try one that was pretty nice, compared to the other ones: Hawa Bladi. It's close to my place and it's a family restaurant so I immediately felt at ease, and they serve simple yet tasty food. The menu is nothing out of the ordinary, the presentation is basic but, overall, that does the trick. And even if the couscous is not what I can eat at home, it's more than decent, and better than at most places I tried in BCN. For €20 per person for a full meal (no wine, including dessert), it's worth a visit. . . . Quality & taste: 8/10 Quantities: 9/10 Atmosphere: 6/10 Originality: 6/10 Ratio price / quality: 8/10 Service: 8/10 ”

“ Nice little restaurant off the beaten path. We had Moussaka to start- hard to eat without a spoon or bread but it was delicious. The Greek salad had lots of Feta but was nondescript. Delicious lamb chops and chicken shawarma. The food just needed some sauces. ”

“ I visited many Arabian restaurants in different European countries but this is really the best Arabian restaurant ever in all , represents the original Arabian food , I highly recommend it ”

“ Food was ok, not standing out, however it was ok. Not that many people inside, service was ~fast. Liked the tea, nice flavour. Had the mixed grill and baba ganoush. The pita bread (not sure if this was it) could have been warm. Not much to complain about however nothing to say that it’s worth mentioning as standing out. ”

“ I highly recommend this place ! Food is so tasty..! Very generous and welcoming owners. It's worth the trip to this slightly dead area of Barcelona. Please, go :) ”
